Renton, WA is located 13 miles southeast of Seattle, on the southeastern shore of Lake Washington. It was founded in the 1860’s. It is now home to Boeing, Paccar, and “several dot-comers,” according to Wikipedia. It has a population of 86,230 as of 2010. Per capita income ranks Renton as 100th out of 522 areas.
Renton was founded as a farming/coal site in 1901. The economy boomed during WWII as Boeing began building B-29 Superfortress. Since then, the factory continued on and now produces Boeing aircraft.
